Description
Musket Arm has been together for about three years of rock-atude. The concept of "Musket Arm" began on a school bus ride with Ryan Glassman (guitar) and Adam Engers (bass). Ryan had drawn on his arm during his day at school, and in the middle of conversing with Adam he said, "Must get arm drawings off." Misinterpreting, Adam queried, "Musket Arm?" They had a good laugh, and the name was born...Shortly after the name was born, the two of them decided they should recruit a drummer. Ryan and Adam had frequented many punk-rock shows at the Island Lake Village Hall; a popular venue for weekend rock shows. A few weekends a band by the name of "Above Suspicion" played, the drummer of this band was Nick Vombrack. Adam had already known Nick, so he decided to approach him about "jamming" sometime, and that they did. Short after, Ryan, Adam, and Nick decided to sit down to their first jam and just play some ideas, which turned into creating five songs in one session. The three of these gentlemen could not deny the chemistry, and decided to make it official. Nick left Above Suspicion, and finalized the band. They were a purely music trio due to the drought of singers in their hometown and surrounding areas. One day, Ryan unexpectedly stepped up to show Nick and Adam what he had...and it was their last day without vocals. After almost two years of being a rock trio, and building a healthy catalogue of songs, they scooped up Matt Engers (brother of Adam, guitar, vocals). Musket Arm had brought Matt Engers in on previous projects for jamming with them, and messing around with cover songs. Matt had wanted to be in the band for a while, and the band wanted Matt as well, but due to Musket Arm’s busy schedule they did not have time to sit down with Matt and begin the addition. So, it has happened; Musket Arm has become a quartet. They have been this four-piece group for several months now, and have not been happier. |
